These strange cultural centers known as "Malls" seemed to be as vital to social functions as well as for commerce. Sure, storefronts were no strangers to to the Volisov Kingdom. Veta would not have nearly a tenth of the credit to her name, were it not for a place of business. But, the function of these malls still intrigued her. If she was to understand the human condition, perhaps this would be as good a place to start, as any.

A trip through the food court left Veta wondering how these humans processed their food. She was half tempted to steal a sample to study it. Part of her wondered if she really wanted to know. Well, there were other things she could always study. The mall had a few electronics shops she wanted to examine. A fine way to get a hand on some materials to mess around with AND study human interaction!

Veta smiled to herself, quite pleased with how the day was turning out. Safely disguised in her human appearance, she didn't draw any unwarranted attention. Just another customer journeying her way through a marketplace.

Inside one of the shops, were a number of devices. Most of them were used for leisure. Screens that could be broadcast to. Bulky and unwieldy looking things that you had to mount on the wall of your home. Actual physical remote controls! Those had a number of buttons that Veta spent plenty of time pressing and trying to get some reaction on those screens, before one of the employees politely asked that she put a stop to her tinkering. And she hadn't even had a chance to make a few "modifications" to the remote.

Oh well, that could wait until later. What she was more interested in was the little remote control replicas that were on display. Now THOSE things looked like they could be useful. With a grin, she walked over and lifted one up. It was meant to fly. Four sets of propellers and a tiny camera. Very interesting design. Light weight and compact. Veta looked around. It didn't look like anyone else was in the aisle she was in, but it didn't hurt to be a little careful. After all, Veta didn't want to draw any attention to herself.

The Mall. The place where people came to shop, to meet with friends and to just hang out. Honami sighed as she walked through the Mall, dodging window shoppers and the groups of teenagers. Well, true she was a teenager herself, she wasn't the type to typically hang around in Malls. Not that she'd never been to one, she just wasn't a fan of them.

The brown haired girl wondered through the Mall, glancing at the windows, but not stopping. She wasn't one for window shopping. Though she did stop to look in a couple of windows. One was a cake shop, it was nearly lunchtime after all. The other was a book shop. She shrugged and decided to have a look inside, see if there was anything she wanted.

She took her time to stroll along the shelves, picking out the occasional book. She would read the back, then put it back, moving on. After awhile, she had two new books, which she took to the counter. She pulled her wallet from her dark blue jeans and paid the correct amount, before she picked the bag containing her books up. She thanked the woman behind the counter and left the shop. She walked along for a bit and found a games store. Shrugging she decided to have a peek inside.

She emerged a moment later with a new game. And a slight smile on her face. Honami headed to the food court and brought herself a burger and a drink. She sat and ate as she wondered what else she should do. She didn't want to head home yet, but she didn't want to wander aimlessly. She sighed and leant back and her eyebrow twitched. Sitting on the top of a pillar, not far away, was a magpie. It was the magpie she'd saved from some cats a few days ago. She knew that because the bird was looking right at her. She finished her drink, grabbed her bags and walked off, not really caring where she was going, as long as it was away from that magpie that had been following her since that day.

The sound that came from the aisle could have come from anything, really. Plenty of people decided to mess around the display models and nobody gave it a second thought. Which suited Veta's purposes just fine. The drone was a fine device on it's own right, but Veta wanted to see what she could do with it. Out had come the Pumpkin Shard and she went right to work.

A little rewiring here, a few alterations there and soon she had that little drone up and running. "Perfect!" she cheered herself on, "Now, let's see what you can see. Hmmm...it does record, but I wonder where I can direct the feed..."

The Shard clicked back on and she waved it about the drone, fine-tuning her tool, as she worked. Brows furrowed in concentration, she tried make her adjustments, before any customers or clerks decided to wander down this aisle while she was working. That was when the drone took off. It zipped right out of the aisle...and the store, itself!

"That was unexpected." she said, to no one in particular. A clerk bolted out from behind the counter and outside the shop, a look of bewilderment on his face. Veta calmly walked back over to the TVs. At least one thing had succeeded. It was now hooked up to the TVs. All of them.

The feed showed the mall and a wide variety of perplexed customers, either watching or trying to get out of the careening device's path. "I wonder where it's going?"

---

The youma was pleased. The mission was going along smoothly. All she had to do was keep planting those little suggestions into the books and soon they would have even more people turning against the Senshi. The Night General would also be pleased. And that was something that was good for everyone involved. Except, of course, the Senshi. And the humans.

But, who cared about them?

When that mechanical drone entered the book store, the youma froze. And when it flew right over to her, she scowled. An expression that warped her disguise and was projected on a number of different TV screens.

---

"Now this is interesting..." Veta mused, as she watched the broadcast. The drone was dodging books that were being flung in it's direction. Whatever she had done, she had provoked something. Something far different the humans that were walking around the mall.

"I...should probably do something about this!" Veta turned from the TVs and the stunned people who were glued to it's broadcast, as the sound of a yelling, frantic beast could be heard approaching. Veta was in an electronics shop. This was going to be fun!

Walking around the Mall, Honami tried to loose the magpie, but was having no luck. The little pest was proving difficult to loose even in the packed Mall. If she was on her own, she'd probably turned and scream at the bird, but she wouldn't dare in such a crowded place.

Looking about, she decided to duck into a shop, preferably one with plenty of aisles and tall shelves. She smiled as she knew just the shop. So she headed towards the bookshop. Honami smiled at the girl behind the counter as she entered again, before she quickly made her way to the back of the shop.

She weaved her way as randomly as she could though the shelves, keeping an eye out for the magpie. She peeked towards the door and sighed. It seemed as though it hadn't followed her inside. She leaned back and looked at the shelve. She smiled as she saw a book she'd missed the last time, so she picked it up and froze. What's that buzzing? she thought. She shrugged and headed back towards the counter. What she saw there made her freeze on the spot.

There was some sort of drone flying around, annoying the girl behind the counter. Who was throwing books at the drone! Throwing books! What kind of person works in a bookshop and hurts books? Honami turned to look at the girl and gasped. The sneer on the girls face didn't look right. It twisted her face so much she almost didn't look human. She looked almost... bestial. The the drone left the shop, dodging books still, as the snarling girl chased after it. Honami shook her head and ran out of the shop, after them. She didn't know why, but she felt like she had to follow the girl.

The girl ran after the drone, snarling and throwing books, which the flying machine dodged even as it continued to wherever it was going. Honami looked about, no one seemed to know what was going on as they stood around, not stopping the bookshop girl from throwing books at the drone. Actually, Honami thought as she realised something. Where's she getting all those books from? She looked at the drone as it seemed to be heading towards an electronics store.

And there was that annoying magpie again! Looking right at her as though it wanted to... talk. But that was impossible. So she ignored the bird and continued after the drone and the girl.

There were so many possibilities. With a store like this, she could build just about anything! Well, maybe not everything. She was still stranded on a primitive planet that thought cell phones were awesome. Speaking of cell phones...

Veta grabbed prepaid phone and tore it out of the package. The speakers would probably come in useful, as well. While she was at it, Veta figured she could borrow one of those universal remote controls. Although, as she thought more about it, that was really a misleading name. She doubted that remote had even a tenth of her Multi-Interface Tool's versatility. Time was of the essence, however, so Veta was just working with the first thing that came to her mind. A little mobile trap that should keep the beast from causing any further damage.

As the sounds grew closer, Veta looked up and noticed that the drone was returning to her. An eyebrow arched it's way up as she wondered just what parameters she had set into the little device. Maybe she should have paid more attention. But, there was the nasty little beasty, coming in to find Veta standing in a pile of torn open packages and spare parts. A remote control truck at her feet and a Frankensteined remote control was in her hands. The truck was wired up with speakers and the cellphone.

The monster locked eyes. This was not expected. She had always planned on meeting a Senshi. But, this seemed like an ordinary human. Veta smiled and waved. Another thing that was unexpected was the lack of fear. Shouldn't she be running and screaming by now?

"Greetings! You look puzzled. Well, so am I." Veta said, "I didn't think my new friend, here, would actually do anything this drastic. Now you are a very interesting --"

The youma was not going to have any of this! Whoever this strange person was, she was going to be wiped out. She would have to deal with the repercussions of being discovered, later. Right now, she had to exterminate this pest and get out of the mall. A book sailed at Veta's head and the Kilvorian woman had to jump out of the way.

"Don't you want to talk?" she asked, hiding behind a rack of batteries. "Perhaps about why you are flinging books around and looking like a grotesque? No offense, intended!"

"Be quiet! I'll destroy you!" the youma yelled as she set another barrage of her weaponized hard covers at Veta. The tomes had now started to hover and circle around the monster. She had her opponent pinned down...now she just needed to land a final blow.

The girl had stormed into the electronics store, damaging the door as she entered. Honami entered not far behind. She glanced around and noticed that the store was already empty. Well, empty except her and the monster. Monster? she asked herself. Actually, why am I in here, alone, with this... thing? Shouldn't I have run the other way? It was then she noticed someone else was in the store!

The other girl didn't look scared at all. In fact she was smiling! And waving. She wants to talk to this thing? Now I know it's a stunt of some kind. The "monster" threw a book at the girl, who dodged it, while still trying to talk to it. And the dialogue was so cheesy that it must be for some magical girl show! Honami chuckled and shook her head, before she looked around for the cameras and the crew. When she couldn't find any, she looked back at the monster and froze.

Books were floating around the thing, on their own! If this was a show, their budget must be really big to be able to do this kind of thing live, rather than in post-production! And it looks so real! A book went flying towards where the girl was hiding. It missed and hit the wall. Where the book became stuck. Honami stood, transfixed, staring at the book. It was actually embedded in the wall. Another book went flying, striking the shelve unit, smashing several of the items on it. Her blood turned to ice as she realised this wasn't some show. This was really happening!

Which meant the girl was in trouble!

Looking around, Honami noticed she was next to a shelve of phones. She grabbed several and threw them at the monster. 'Leave her alone!' she cried as the phones struck the thing. I'm crazy! she screamed in her head as she threw another phone.

Just like that, another unexpected element had entered the scene. Veta peaked around from behind her cover and noticed that a girl had taken to hurling packaged cellphones at the beast. A noble gesture, but one that caused her to question the girl's logical functions.

"You might want to find yourself some cover!" she suggested, as she began to work on the remote control. The youma had taken one of the lumps of plastic to the back and turned to face this newest adversary. It was just a girl. Why she was trying to interfere was something that would have to be left to pure conjecture.

"If you wish to die...I will gladly assist you!" sneered the youma as she sent one of her books in the girl's direction. Veta frowned. This would not do, at all. Having a bystander struck down by this beast was something the Volisovian could not stand. Her modifications finished, she activated the remote and the truck whirred to life. It rumbled forward and made a light tap, as it struck the youma's foot.

"Eh?"

Confused, the youma looked down at the improvised device, head tilted in confusion. The sound that followed was almost deafening. At least to the youma. The beast was locked into place as the tone increased in pitch. Veta stepped out from behind her cover.

"There we go!" she declared, "A nice little sonic field to keep you behaved."

She smirked, proud of her work and walked around the beast, "Of course, I'm not entirely sure what to do with you now, but at least I know I won't have to worry about any further surprises, now will I?"

Veta picked up one of the books that had fallen, after she had activated her field. She flipped through the pages, even though she didn't seem all that interested in actually reading them.

"My, my. You've been busy, haven't you?" she continued, "Well, seeing as how I've bought myself some more time, what say we see about putting an end to all this."

Veta still had an entire electronics store at her disposal. Now all she had to do was find the right way to take care of this monster. The sonic field was loud, but outside of it's immediate range, it didn't appear to be affecting Veta, or the girl who had come to her "rescue". In fact, the only thing affected appeared to be the youma.

Throwing even more phones at the monster as it turned towards her, Honami was beginning to realise how much of a dumb idea this was. Especially as she was down to one box. She threw the final box and swallowed. The monster snarled and threw a book at her. Honami closed her eyes and felt the impact, pain erupting in her chest, knocking her to the ground.

She didn't know how long she'd been laying on the ground. But she knew she was alive. With a grown Honami slowly opened her eyes. And groaned again. Sitting on her chest was that damned magpie! 'Are you okay?' it asked.

Honami's eyes widened in shock. 'You spoke!' She shot up, knocking the magpie to the ground. 'You spoke!' The magpie jumped up and dusted itself off with its beak.
'So you've said,' it muttered. 'But I'm glad I finally found you!' It looked at Honami and it seemed to be smiling. 'I knew it was you, the moment you saved me from those cats! I've spent my life looking for you! Sailor Vela!'

Honami just stared blankly at the magpie. 'What?' The magpie sighed.
'You're the Constellation Senshi, Sailor Vela!' The magpie rummaged under one of its wings, before pulling out a locket. It was gold and silver, with a sail etched on the front, on a silver chain. Honami took the locket and looked at it, then back at the magpie. 'Now, hold that locked up and say "Vela Constellation Power, Make-up!"' Honami looked at the locked, frowning.
'What? Why?' she asked, looking at the magpie again. The magpie growled.
'Just do it!'
'Okay! No need to shout!' Sighing, Honami held the locked up above her head. 'Vela Constellation Power, Make-up!'

The sail on the locket started glowing and disks of wind shot out of the sail. They flew around Honami, before encircling her chest, upper and lower arms and her wrists, her belly and her thighs, calves and ankles. The disks spun, picking up speed. The disks then flew outwards and Sailor Vela appeared. She wore a white leotard with a dark blue collar and skirt, with cream bands, two on the collar, two on the elastic of the skirt, and two around the hem. The gloves and boots she wore, both reaching to either elbows or knees, are the same dark blue with cream bands around the ends, and two around the wrists of the gloves and the ankles of the boots. She wore a simple gold tiara, with a star shaped crystal of lapis lazuli with the sign of Vela etched into it.

Sailor Vela blinked and looked down at herself. 'Wait, what?!' she asked, her ckeeks colouring. 'I can't wear this!' she cried, tugging the skirt down. 'Look how short the skirt is!' The magpie, who Sailor Vela now knew was Soroka, growled again.
'That doesn't matter now!' she almost shouted. 'There's an enemy here! And they're attacking a civilian!' Sailor Vela frowned and nodded.
'Okay!' Her frown faltered. 'How do I do that?'
'Use your weapon and your magic!'
'Weapon and magic?' Sailor Vela looked down at Soroka. She frowned and brought her hands up, closing her hands as though she were holding something. With a burst of air, a pair of tonfa appeared in her hands. 'What?' she gasped, looking at Soroka again.
'Now! Attack the enemy! Say "Wind Cutter!" and swing your tonfa forwards!'
'That's it?' Soroka nodded. 'Okay,' Vela said with a sigh. 'Wind Cutter!' she cried, stepping forwards, bringing her arms forwards, while spinning her tonfa. Small disks of wind shot out of her tonfa, towards the enemy.

The civilian had taken a blow and seemed to be out of commission. Not a fatal blow, from what Veta could see, but enough that she may be able to dispatch this beast and be on her merry way before any questions had to be asked. That would be for the best.

"Now then...let's see what else we have here!" Veta smiled to herself as she dug around behind the counter. Locked away, were likely to be the more fun items. Although she was mostly finding a lot of cameras. That wasn't going to do her any good. Still, Veta continued to dig around, even as she heard some shouting out near the entrance where that girl had been knocked out.

"Hm, she must be coming to..." Veta mused, "She must be rather robust! A lot tougher than I might have given her credit for. Ah well, that beast isn't moving anywhere."

As she dumped an ever growing pile of electronic devices on to the counter, Veta stood up. When she did, she was greeted with an entirely new sight. Gone was the girl and in her place stood a Senshi! With a tonfa in hand!

"Now this is interesting." Veta said and watched as she hurled a disk of wind at the youma. Locked in place, as it was, it didn't have much of a choice. It met with initial resistance, before impacting with the monster. Veta's device sputtered to a stop, before smoke poured out it. Veta wasted no time in rushing for the door, taking the Senshi by the hand as she peeled outside of the store as the smoke alarm started to go off and the sprinklers activated.

"Excellent work!" she praised, "But, I believe we might want to make ourselves scarce!"

The Wind Cutter attack struck the youma, leaving Sailor Vela blinking in surprise. 'It actually did something?' she said, looking at Soroka. 'But, do I really have to call out the attacks name every time I use it?'
'Yes you do,' the magpie said with a sigh. She could feel a slight headache building.
'But wouldn't that warn the enemy of what type of attack is coming?' Vela asked. 'Also doesn't it remove the element of surprise if they don't know you're there?' Soroka growled under her breath again, shaking her head. 'And this fuku...' She trailed off as the girl came running over to her.

Vela's cheeks coloured as the girl grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the shop with her. 'T... thank you,' she said just as the smoke alarm went off. As they ran from the shop, Vela realised that there were people outside, looking at her dressed as a cosplayer from some fanboys fantasy dream! 'Oh, god, kill me now,' she muttered under her breath, hoping, praying that no one would recognise her.
'Don't worry, Sailor Vela!' Soroka chirped from besides her. 'No one will recognise you!'
'A... are you sure?' she asked. Soroka nodded. 'But still... being dressed like this...' As she was dragged along after the girl, Vela used her free hand to hold the back of the skirt down. 'W... where are we going?' she asked the girl. 'Who are you?'

Those were two excellent questions from the confused Senshi. Vela appeared to be her name. Probably not her real name. Most of these Senshi seemed to take their name from nearby celestial landmarks. And now she had one, right here! This was turning out to be a very exciting day.

"My name is...Smith! Yuzuki Smith!" she glanced over her shoulder. Even if these Senshi shared her need for secrecy didn't mean she come right out and announce her true identity. For the time being, she would maintain her cover, as an ordinary human female.

"And I have no idea where we're going. Other than this way. I know for sure we're going this way."

She pointed ahead. Joining the strange looking trio, Veta's (Or Yuzuki's as she had identified herself) modified drone tailed behind them, before catching up and flying next to the magpie. "Yuzuki" lead the way outside of the mall, before they found themselves in the relative privacy of the parking garage.

"Now that was a truly enlightening experience!" she said, "Wouldn't you agree?"

'P... pleased to meet you,' Vela said as the girl introduced herself as Yuzuki Smith. Vela was sure it wasn't her real name, but right then, she didn't care. Vela had more important things to think about. Such as her being a senshi! Along with a talking magpie called Soroka! On top of her having to fight monsters! In such a revealing outfit! She hoped she was dreaming because if this was real, she was sure she'd die from embarrassment. 'Ummm... okay,' she said, not caring either which way they went as long as it was away from here

'Careful, Sailor Vela!' Soroka said. 'She's not human!' Vela glanced at the magpie, who was flying alongside her.
'Is she a monster?' Vela whispered. Soroka shook her head.
'She doesn't feel like a youma. But she's certainly not human!' Vela glanced at Yuzuki, frowned, then looked at Soroka.
'Are you telling me she's an... alien?' Soroka did some weird bob with her head, which Vela reckoned was a kind of shrug. Which would have been tough for the magpie to do as she was flying. She mentally sighed. Aliens? Great! What more weirdness could happen today?

Soon, they found themselves in the carpark. Vela glanced around, wondering if that monster, a youma as Soroka called it, was following them. She knew she should fight it, every fiber of her being told her to fight. But in this outfit? How can I? And how am I running in these heels? She blinked as Yuzuki spoke again. 'Ummm... yes, it most certainly has been an enlightening experience,' she said before she sighed again.

Not human? Her? Well, the talking bird may have been right, but Veta was still very confident in the disguise she had set up for herself. She had studied these humans and was certain she had all the physical markings. Why, she didn't even have her pointed ears! They were rounded just like any other humans.

None of that mattered, for the moment. Veta and her new acquaintance had managed to get themselves outside of the mall and away from prying bystanders. She only wished she could have gotten a sample from that beast. But, between the sonic trap and that wind attack, there was hardly enough left of it to get anything useful.

'The power behind that attack must have altered the field.' Veta thought, wishing she could at least get a recording of the event. But, hindsight is 20/20, as they say.

"Yes! I never thought I would be so fortunate as to encounter a Senshi and one of those strange creatures on the same day." Veta nodded her head, "Now...what was it, your avian companion called you? Was it Sailor Vela?"

Glad that they'd stopped where there was no one around, Vela continued to tug on the far too short skirt. She glared at Soroka. 'You and me are going to have words about this,' she said. Soroka swallowed before she nodded. Vela then turned to Yuzuki and was about to say something, when the girl beat her to it.

'You know about the senshi?' both Vela and Soroka asked incredulously. 'I told you she wasn't a normal human,' Soroka whispered, using one of her wings to cover her beak. Though why she did that, when it was hard to read a beak, Vela didn't know. Something else she didn't know, was how Soroka was forming words, when a beak wasn't as flexible as a mouth. But she pushed those thoughts from her mind as Yuzuki continued.
'Ummm... yes,' Vela said. 'I'm the Sailor Senshi of Wind and Change, Sailor Vela.' She blinked, her hand going to her mouth as her cheeks coloured. 'What was that?' she asked, turning to Soroka.
'That's who you are,' Soroka said with a slight sigh. 'You are Sailor Vela. That was your introduction.'
'But it felt like I didn't say it! It felt like it was said through me!' Soroka sighed and shook her head.
'Do you want to talk about this, right now?' Vela frowned, then glanced at Yuzuki, her blush deepening slightly.
'Ummm... right. Good point.' She cleared her throat and turned to face Yuzuki. 'Pleased to meet you, Yuzuki Smith,' she said, holding her hand out.

Curiously enough, it seemed that there was some dissent between the Senshi and her animal companion. The two went back and forth, over some matter or another, while the drone that Veta had altered hovered around it's human(-and-totally-not-alien) companion. It was almost like a dog, the way it stuck by her side.

"Naturally." she said, "I do follow the news, after all."

She said, certain that this would be proof enough that she was a human. After putting all those doubts to rest, she listened to Vela's formal introduction. And again, the girl seemed to be rather unsure of what was going on. Or even what she was doing, for that matter. The girl blushed and turned back to offer her hand.

Which Veta gladly accepted and gave a firm shake, "Likewise! It is an honor and a privilege." she grinned, "Oh, if you don't mind, would you care to answer a few questions?"

When Yuzuki said she knew about the senshi by following the news, Vela glanced at Soroka, her eyebrow raised. Soroka just shrugged. 'Doesn't mean I'm wrong,' the magpie muttered in an almost singsong way. Vela sighed, then turned back to Yuzuki. 'I guess they, we are big news some times, aren't we?' she said with a slightly nervous chuckle.

When Yuzuki shook her hand, the blush faded somewhat from Vela's cheeks, though not completely. Especially when the girl said it was an honour and a privilege meeting her. 'Well, I'm not that special,' Vela said, chuckling in embarrassment. But then the topic of questions was raised.

'Well,' Vela began, unsure if she should answer any questions. Especially since she probably knew about as much as Yuzuki about the senshi. She glanced at Soroka, who was shaking her head, waving her wings horizontally, in an almost human gesture of negative. 'I guess I could answer a couple of questions,' Vela replied, wondering what kind of questions this strange girl would ask.

"Oh, no need to be so modest!" Veta insisted. "After all, Senshi are capable of such great things! I would imagine that whatever it is that makes you a Senshi is quite a special thing, indeed."

She gave a confident nod of her head. Her instincts were usually pretty good on things like this. Even if she didn't fully understand what made some of these humans so powerful, she could guess that it was something that must have been impressive. And now she had the perfect opportunity to study one of these Senshi and find out just what did make them tick.

"Splendid!" Veta grinned, "Now, where to start...Ah! Yes, those attacks of yours. Very fascinating. I believe you generated some sort of blast of wind. Well, perhaps that is inaccurate. But how do you generate the energy? Is it something you can manifest psychically?"

But I've only just become a Senshi! Vela thought as she started to panic. Though she smiled for Yuzuki's sake. 'I... I guess it is,' she said before chuckling. Not that I know what it is.

She'd only just become a Senshi, (Her! A Senshi! She didn't even believe in them!) and she'd already got a fan! She'd not even done anything great! Well, she had helped defeat that youma, and had rescued Yuzuki. But Vela reckoned that the girl didn't need rescuing. Who is this girl?

A blush spread across her cheeks as Yuzuki asked about her attack, and how she'd done it. But Vela had no idea! 'I've... never really thought about it before,' she said, which wasn't exactly a lie. She'd never thought about it before. As she'd only just used it the once. 'I think that's not far from the truth. I think I focus on the air around my tonfa and just push out and the attack goes flying towards the enemy.' She was making it all up on the spot, of course, but it sounded at least partly plausible to her ears. She hoped Yuzuki would buy it.

While Veta had not felt that she was in any real danger, the assistance of the Senshi had certainly expedited the solution of what to do about the monster. Her trap had been a means of containing the beast, before any innocent bystanders could be caught. Either way, she would not complain. The results of the outside interference meant that she could interact with an actual Sailor Senshi! It was a great day science.

"Ah, most interesting." she nodded her head. It sounded reasonable enough. The power manifested itself through the will of Sailor Vela. Perhaps there was some psychic phenomenon that could account for this. Well, she would have to study it further. Perhaps if there was some way she could observe the brainwaves of a Senshi in action?

"How were you made aware of these abilities? Did you find out about them or did you always know?" There were so many questions that she had, it was a bit difficult to keep straight which ones she wanted to concentrate on.

As Yuzuki nodded, Vela mentally sighed. It seemed that the girl believed her explanation about her powers. Vela hoped she didn't have to keep coming up with answers on the fly.

But that hope was shattered by Yuzuki's next questions. Plural. As she bombarded Vela with not one, but two! 'Well, Soroka reminded me of them,' she said, smiling at the magpie, who just sighed and returned the smile. 'She told me about them, and who I was then, well, I guess I alway knew. I'd just forgotten about them.' There was more that she'd forgotten about, such as her betrayal by her best friend and adviser, her own death. She shivered as those images flashed through her mind, but she pushed them down, focused on the now. 'So, yeah. Soroka reminded me of my powers.'

"Ah, so it was the familiar that unlocked this potential?" Veta looked at the magpie that had accompanied them. So, the talking bird was the key to it all? At least in terms of aiding the Senshi in discovering their powers. How interesting. She wondered if all Senshi had some sort of similar situation.

"And this was something that had been dormant." Veta tapped her chin. This meant that there were probably other humans who didn't realize they had this potential locked away somewhere inside. Could there be a way to detect it? That could be potentially dangerous.

"So, what happened you remembered these powers? Was it gradual, or a rather sudden experience?"

The moment she mentioned that Soroka awoke her memories and her powers, Vela realised she'd said too much. Especially the way Yuzuki reacted and looked at the magpie. Soroka glanced from Yuzuki to Vela, and Vela knew what Soroka was trying to say.

'Ummm it was sudden,' Vela replied to Yuzuki's next question. 'I just kind of knew how to use it.' Again, Vela hadn't lied. She had known how to use it. After Soroka had reminded her how to use it.

Soroka sighed and shook her head. Vela was supposed to keep things about the Senshi a secret. Yet here she was, giving this Yuzuki girl, who Soroka was sure wasn't human, an interview! Though Vela hasn't given too much away, other than Soroka's part in her awakening. But if she gave anything more important away, Soroka would jump in and shut this interview down.

"I see, I see." Veta nodded her head. A very studious expression was on her face, as she rested a hand on her hip and used the other continued to give a thoughtful tap to her chin. It did matched up with how their abilities manifested. After accessing memories of some past life, it seemed they also unlocked the knowledge of how to fight. This was an incredible situation.

"Now, from what I've come to understand is that you and the other Senshi have done battle with monsters, like the one you defeated earlier, before." she continued, "They certainly have offered a unique variety. Do you know where they come from?"

That would be a good place to start. Finding a source for these creatures would go a long way to containing any future threats. Clearly they were a destructive force. Exactly how they first came into contact with a species like humans was a little puzzling. There had to be some sort of outside interference, Veta was sure of that.

As she continued to speak, it became obvious to Vela that this Yuzuki had been studying the Senshi, and the youma for some time. She seemed to know more about the Senshi than Vela herself did! How long had this Yuzuki been studying them?

'The youma? Well, unfortunately I don't know where they come from,' Vela said, avoiding mentioning that that had been the first youma she'd fought. 'Nor what they want. And they do come in a variety of shapes and sizes, yes.' Again, she hadn't lied, just neglected to mention her lack of experience fighting them. 'Maybe the others know more about them. Sorry.'

It seemed that one Senshi could provide only so much data. Oh well, it was still more than she knew before. Veta would have to seek out more Senshi and see if she could find out more information on them. And, of course, those monsters. What a curious little world she had stumbled upon!

"I suppose there isn't much more we can learn, at the moment." she shrugged her shoulders, "I suppose this will be where we part ways. It has been a lovely experience meeting you, Sailor Vela. I hope that we cross paths, again! Oh! But, before you go, could I trouble you for a hair sample?"

It was worth asking. Analyzing any samples she could acquire would go a long way to assembling a more complete picture of what she had discovered. If not? Well, she would have to find other means to further her studies.
