special skills or abilities;;  With rare exceptions, she always has another pair of handcuffs and, being a cop, she's been trained in basic self defense.

personality;;  Kari is a very energetic sort of person.  She loves nothing more than the thrill of the chase and treats most everything like a competition.  She tends to be quite caring as well, at least for the well-being of others if not for their patience.  Helping people is one of the reasons she became a cop.  However, if a scuffle breaks out, she's quite happy to arrest everyone involved and let someone else handle the guilt.  She also very much enjoys the adrenaline rush of speed and loves to see how fast she can go, which is why she's got so many speeding tickets.

history;;  Kari didn't grow up in the best of situations.  Her father was a criminal, simple as that and she very much did not like him.  It didn't work out because he didn't like her either.  So she ran away but came crawling back when the guilt of leaving her younger sibling became too much.  Most of the time, she took care of her younger sibling while their father was in jail or doing things that would send him to jail.  

During high school, life changed again.  Her father was arrested and stayed in jail, which both was a blessing and a curse.  She got a job at a cafe to make whatever money she could to support her family.  These were hard times but there were good times too.  She had a few romantic flings with schoolmates and coworkers, most of them female though none lasted very long.  It was also during this time of her life that she decided naively to help others and to stop situations like hers from happening.  So it wasn't long after she graduated that she started working to become a cop.

Now she lives in a small home large enough for her, her sibling, and the red two seater convertible she won in one of the hundreds of raffles she's put in.  It rarely leaves the house since it is very precious to her and she tends to get pulled over more often.  As for her dreams of being a cop, she's working her way up through the ranks though her rising star tends to stall whenever her driving record comes up.  She's also continued her romantic liasons, though she leans more towards the male coworkers.  Rarely do these go for long either and she's recently broken up with another one.
