| Riko was stunned, at first. Before Etain even said anything, her outfit looked remarkable on her! The young detective couldn't have hid the bright blush if she was even aware of it, at this point. She had known that Etain was an attractive woman from the moment she met her. But, this outfit certainly highlighted the fact.
"Y-yeah, it looks...um...g-good!" she stammered as Etain posed. Her face felt a hundred degrees hotter as she tried to compose herself, to no avail. This was one battle that the young detective seemed to be on the losing side.
Not that she was going to complain too much. Well, she wouldn't complain if her stubborn nose hadn't decided to act up, once again. With quick action, she grabbed it and tilted her head back.
"I-it looks very good." she added, before running back to the changing room.

| The blush continued to spread as Etain watched Riko's reaction to the outfit. And Riko certainly liked the outfit on Etain. She smiled as Riko stammered, and the blush on the girls cheeks grew.
Etain was looking forwards to seeing Riko's reaction when the young detective had a spontaneous nosebleed again. She was about to go and help Riko, when the girl ran back into the changing room, leaving Etain worried and confused. That's the second nosebleed she's had today, she thought. But why? She pondered the question for a moment, before blushing. Both times I did or said something. This time was this outfit. The first time... the first time was when I suggested we go to my place! She smiled and turned to the changing room.
She closed the door behind her and looked at the last outfit she had picked. 'Should I put this on?' she asked, hands on her hips. 'If she got a nosebleed from this,' she said, looking at what she wore in the mirror. 'Then what would happen if I wore that?' She looked at the last outfit. She smiled again and changed into the last outfit, before she left the changing room.

| Inside the safety of her changing room, Riko tried to get herself back together. She could certainly pull off the cute look. That didn't seem to be the problem. Now if only she could get the "Sexy" look down. That seemed to be a challenge. Well, she had one last outfit to try on. She wondered what Etain would say.
The current, odds-on favorite, was "That looks cute!" and she was pretty sure that was an accurate assumption. The shirt was red, with three black stripes going across the front in a diagonal pattern. As opposed to shorts, this time around she wore a pair sweatpants that weren't too loose. They were solid black.
Before she left, she had to brace herself. Etain had one last outfit to try out. She had no idea what to expect and wanted to make sure that she didn't do something that would embarrass herself. Any more than she had already done so.
"Here goes nothing." she said to herself, a chuckle directed at herself as she opened up the door and stepped back out.

| Stepping out of the changing room, Etain looked around, wondering what Riko would be wearing, and looking forwards to the girls reaction to what she herself had on.
The final outfit consisted of a sleeveless vest, that exposed her midriff, and hugged her everywhere, except where the neckline was(barely) tastefully plunging. The bottoms were tight and left a lot of her legs exposed, but not much to the imagination. Both were red with black pipping and highlights.
Of course, it wasn't something Etain would normally wear to the gym, but today, she thought she'd wear it for Riko.
She heard the door open and turned. Her eyes opened wide as she saw Riko. The outfit she wore was cute, but then anything looked cute on Riko, as she, herself, was cute. But it was more than cute. It was; 'Beautiful,' Etain whispered. 'That really, really suits you, Riko.' She beamed at the girl, barely stopping herself from stroking her hair, her cheek, her chin.
Etain mentally shook her head, forcing her mind from those, admittedly tempting, thoughts. 'So, what do you think of mine?' she asked, her cheeks burning, not only at what she was wearing, but at the thought of Riko looking at her dressed as she was.

| Hands shot up to cover up the nosebleed she was sure was going to fire out like a geyser. She wouldn't be surprised if the force would send her flying up through the ceiling. Fortunately, she didn't. Through some miracle. That didn't mean she wasn't done blushing. Not by a long shot.
What Etain wore could only be described as sexy. She wasn't sure if she could gather up the nerve to even look at it, yet alone wear it. Riko could have sworn she heard the word "Beautiful", somewhere around the beginning of that sentence.
Forming a sentence of her own was proving to be a challenge. After all, what could she say about Etain's gym clothes. If you could even count those as gym clothes. "Ah, it's..." she started, "Um...wow!"
That was about the best she could manage.

| Watching Riko's hands shoot to her nose brought panic to the surface of Etain's mind, and she took a couple of steps towards Riko. She reached out and placed one hand over the hands on the girls nose, the other onto her shoulder.
It was then Etain noticed Riko's blushing cheeks, and she remembered the last times Riko had nosebleeds, and it was Etain's turn to blush. She was next to Riko, wearing what she was(barely) wearing.
'T... thank you,' she said, looking down at Riko. 'A... are you...?' She swallowed. 'Okay?' she finished, sentences of more than a few syllables had become difficult to form in her mind. 'You're beautiful,' she said, before her entire face turned bright red.

| The distance between the two didn't seem to last for long. Just like at the cafe, Etain's concern brought her closer as she put a hand on her shoulder and over her own hands. Riko was not very eager to attempt to move at this point. Although this was a little less voluntary and more due to the fact that she couldn't move her legs even if she wanted to.
"...Fine." was her murmured response. Any doubt about what she had said before was banished as she heard Etain come right out and say it.
You're beautiful
Then Etain turned a bright shade of red, herself. At least Riko was no longer alone in this regard. How Riko remained on her feet was probably a small miracle. She smiled, behind her hands. Actually, it felt pretty nice to have such an attractive lady like Etain call her beautiful.

| Leaning closer so she could get a better look at Riko, to better gage if she was, actually, fine, Etain looked intently in her eyes. She sighed, then smiled, removing her hand from over Riko's own hands. Though the hand on the shoulder stayed there. Etain bent down slightly a slight frown creasing her brow. 'Don't worry me like that again, okay?' she said, her tone gentle, before smiling at the girl. 'But I'm glad you're fine.' She stood and, before she knew what she was doing, pulled Riko into a hug.
She quickly released Riko from the hug, but didn't let go of her. She stood there, her hands on Riko's shoulders, her cheeks bright red. Her mind blank, just looking down at Riko. 'Ummm...' was all she could manage right then.

| After her hands were released, Riko was only allowed a brief moment to attempt to recuperate before Etain wrapped her up in a hug. The embrace was brief, but it did not follow with her being completely released from the other detective. Riko just stood and blushed as she looked back up at Etain, similarly left in a speechless state.
She wasn't all that certain about how to react, herself. She could only give a small, unusually shy smile back towards Etain. Unusual, as shyness was never something RIko was known for.
"Um...so...I guess we should move on, now? Er...back to your place?" Riko said with a deeper blush.

| Returning the smile, just as shyly, Etain just stared at Riko, before what she said sank in. Etain blushed again, and slowly released Riko, her hands rubbing together nervously. 'G... good idea,' she said, with a small giggle. 'Let's go back to m... mine.' She turned and went to leave the changing area, when she remembered what she was wearing. Blushing furiously she turned and ran back to the changing room.
Etain quickly changed back into her normal clothes and picked up the outfits she had tried on. She looked between them, wondering which one, if any, she should buy. I wonder which one Riko would like? She looked in the mirror and saw that her eyes were wide, her entire face bright red. She shook those thoughts from her mind, picked up her bag and left.
Waiting outside the changing rooms for Riko, Etain wondered again which of the outfits she should buy. 'Maybe I'll get them all?' she muttered. 'Which one would Riko like?'

| At some point, Riko was back in her changing room. How and when she got there was something she could only speculate. But, now she had to decide what she was going to wear. The current outfit she had on certainly had one some high praise. But, so did the hoodie! And the tank top and shorts combo. She frowned. Riko didn't want to take advantage of Etain's kindness.
Besides, she did have her own money. Mr. Ookami did give her a percentage of his fee. It was just a matter of when he would actually take a case to earn those fees that was shaky. But...she WAS working on a case right now. And it was one that required some undercover work! Somewhere in the middle of all this, was the purpose they had claimed to be their reason for trying on all these clothes.
"Sounds like a plan." she nodded to herself, before changing back into her uniform. She strolled with her items in hand and rejoined, Etain. Her face was still red, but it had died down considerably.

| Waiting for Riko to leave the changing rooms was causing Etain to become impatient, something she normally wasn't. She paused. Why am I becoming impatient? she wondered. She looked down at the items in her arms and blushed. Oh, that's probably why. She heard the door open and turned, smiling at Riko.
'S... so, you decided on w... what you want?' she asked, noticing that Riko's face was still red. She looked down at the clothes she was holding, her blush spreading. 'I... I can't make my mind up, myself.' She tightened her grip on the clothes, then looked up at Riko. 'What do you want me to get?' she asked, almost shouted, her cheeks a bright red.

| "Ah...I think so." she answered and looked down at the three options, "I think...that last one seemed to look pretty good."
She blushed as she looked over to what Etain was debating. To tell the truth, she couldn't quite decide on which one she should choose. After all, all three looked very good on her. That last outfit, especially. Riko did not seem like she was ever going to get rid of that blush.
"Well. As...good...as that last one was, you might want try the second set. Might not draw as much attention." She mustered up a wink to the detective, "Can't have everybody turning their heads as you walk by. Be hard to hunt for clues that way."
She managed to let out a slight giggle at that.
"I think I'll buy these other two." she held up her arms, "I'm sure I'll be able to find a use for them after the case is over."

| 'That one did look good on you,' she said with a smile. 'Though... y... you should get the hoodie as well,' Etain said, looking at the hoodie. 'It looks cute on you. But then again, you look cute in anything,' she added with a wink.
Looking down at the items she chose, Etain blushed again. Especially when Riko complimented her. And the wink. 'I... I think you're right,' she said, smiling at Riko. 'Though, if everyone's looking at me, you could go hunting for clues,' she added with a wink of her own.
'Those look really good on you,' Etain said with a nod. 'And you could wear them as part of a casual outfit after the case is over.' She turned slightly towards the exit of the changing area. 'Should we go and get these then?' she asked, smiling at Riko. 'Then we can go to my place,' she added with a wink.

| More winking and blushing. This time, with Riko on the receiving end. She still smirked her way through it. It looked like she had picked a few good winners, even if Etain seemed to approve of anything she might wear.
"Not a bad point." she said, "You keep the heads spinning and I'll snoop around all those places they don't want me to be."
Riko followed Etain out of the changing area and started towards the checkout lines. The other detective had voiced just what she had been thinking, herself. And again, thought about who else might find it cute on her. Although having Etain's approval certainly wasn't anything to sneer at, either. The way she had been able to pull off that last look in particular? Riko blushed.
"I'm looking forward to it." she replied.

| 'If I wore that third one, going from your reaction, we'd both be able to hunt for clues as everyone would be unconscious due to bloodloss,' Etain said with a giggle. Though she still blushed at the thought of wearing her third choice to the gym.
Waiting in the line to the checkout, Etain began to have some doubts about buying what she had chosen. She already had a fine gym kit at home. But Riko had liked it, and said she should get it, and, if she was honest with herself, Etain liked it as well.
As they drew near to the checkout, the blush that still coloured her cheeks grew. Soon it was their turn, so Etain put the items she had chosen to purchase on the counter, not looking at the girl behind the till as she scanned and bagged the four items. Etain looked at Riko and smiled. 'Come on, it's on me.'

| "A true knock out." Riko returned the giggle as she waited in line with a scarlet hue stretched across her cheeks. While she didn't have many doubts about her purchases, she was still planning on making use of the funds she had available to herself. When the girl at the register started scanning the items, Etain surprised Riko with her offer.
"A-are you sure?" she said, "It wouldn't be any trouble for me."
She had her things resting on the counter, already, but she was waiting to be able to pay for it, herself. Riko blushed as the girl behind went ahead and scanned it anyways. "Thank you." she said.

| The blush on Etain's cheeks intensified at Riko's words, as well as her giggle. 'I'm sure, Riko,' she said, smiling at the girl before she pulled her purse from her bag. 'And it's no trouble, honestly.' She turned as the rather cute girl behind the counter began to scan Riko's things and smiled. When she was finished, the girl told Etain the total, which the red head paid. She picked up the bag, thanked the girl and turned to Riko. 'Shall we go?' she said with a smile.
Etain lead the way from the shop, back towards her car. She unlocked it, placing her bag and the shopping back on the backseat, closed the door. She then climbed into the drivers seat, waited for Riko to get in, then did her seatbelt up, started the engine and drove out of the car park.

| She was rather grateful for the generosity. Etain paid for the clothes and soon they were back at her car and leaving the purchased items in the back seat. Riko climbed back into the passenger seat and looked over at Etain, "So, looks like I finally get to see this place of yours." she said, with a light chuckle.
Occupying herself during the ride over, Riko took her phone out and ran a quick search on the gym that they would be investigating. After all...that was what they were SUPPOSED to be doing. Not that anyone seemed to really be keeping tabs on how much work they may or may not have been doing. There wasn't much to look on the gym's site. It didn't seem to be all that remarkable and certainly not a hotbed of suspicious activity. Before she knew it, they were pulling up to Etain's place.

| 'That you do,' Etain said with a chuckle as they drove back to hers. As she drove, Etain tried to stay calm, as she didn't want to speed, nor did she want to swear in front of Riko. She'd probably heard worse, but Etain didn't want to seem to lose her cool in front of Riko.
She pulled up outside her place, turned the engine off. 'Well, here we are.' She opened her door and got out, closing it behind her. She retrieved her bag and the shopping bag from the backseat and, when Riko was out, locked the car. They were parked in front of a block of apartments.
Etain lead the way up the stairs to the third door along. She unlocked the door and invited Riko in. 'Welcome to my home,' she said, closing the door behind her, kicking her shoes off. She slipped her slippers on, then got a spare pair for Riko. The small hallway lead to a large room, with two doors to the left, one on the right.
The main room was furnished with a table, in front of a tv, around which sat a settee and two chairs. Four bookcases, a desk piled with papers occupied the rest of the room. She walked over to the settee and placed the bags down next to it. 'Make yourself at home,' she said to Riko. 'Would you like a drink?' she asked as she headed to the kitchen, the door on the right.

| Once they got the apartments, Riko followed Etain up towards her residence. The only time she felt a hint of apprehension, was when she stood by the door. Riko blushed, but stepped inside, anyways. She took the spare slippers and left her shoes by the door, alongside Etain's.
Then, she got the opportunity to take a look around. The main room looked cozy enough. Two other rooms were behind a pair of doors to her left and a kitchen was off to the right. After their things were left on the sette, Riko took Etain up on the offer and made herself at home. She walked around the main room and gave a casual once over to what was inside. She had a nice selection of books and her desk looked like it was seeing lots of use.
"Sure, thank you!" she said, "I...think I'll just have some water, thanks."
She smiled and took a seat in one of the chairs as she waited for Etain to rejoin her. "You have a very nice place." she remarked.

| Watching as Riko walked around the main room, Etain couldn't help but smile. She's a natural detective, she thought. Always inquisitive, always seeing everything. She smiled and nodded. 'One water coming up.'
She got two glasses out and poured two waters, before heading back to the main room. Seeing Riko sitting in one of the chairs made Etain pause. But she smiled and continued to the seating area. 'Thank you,' she said as she placed Riko's drink on the table in front of her. She placed her own drink in front of the other chair, before sitting. 'You're the first person I've brought home since...' she paused, her smile vanishing, her face falling. Her eyes moistened as they took on a sad, far away look. She blinked and focused on Riko. 'Well, it's been awhile since I've brought anyone home.' She smiled and picked up her drink, took a sip.

| It was an unusual thing to see Etain get so close to being on the brink of tears. Sure, they had only just met today, but Riko had seen the red haired woman in a largely flirty and teasing mood throughout the better part of their time together. She seemed to recover quickly, however. Riko found herself a bit torn. While her curiosity wanted her to inquire...she also didn't want to dredge up any bad memories.
After all, they had only just met. But, she was still happy to be here. And there was no sense in letting her know that. "I'm glad you invited me over." she said, taking a sip of her drink. She wasn't sure what else to say, she just took another sip and blushed a little bit more.

| Sitting, playing with her glass, Etain just stared at the contents for awhile, her mind elsewhere. A single tear rolled down her cheek, to fall into the water. The sight of it, as well as the sound of Riko's voice, snapped the read head out of her revere. She blinked and looked up at Riko, smiling.
'I'm glad I asked you,' she said with a wink. 'And I'm glad you came.' She took a sip from her water then sighed. 'Hey, Riko? Why did you become a detective?' she asked, looking at the water in her hands. She chuckled, shook her head. 'No, it's okay. You don't have to answer.' She smiled at Riko, but it didn't seem as smooth as before. It didn't quiet reach her eyes. 'Forget I asked.' She took another gulp of water. She put her glass down, before she stood. 'I'll just grab my things, then we can go to the gym, okay?'

| The odd behavior continued until she spotted a stray tear escape from Etain. Whatever she was thinking about was bothering her. Again, Riko was in the position of wanting to know, but not wanting to be impolite. Especially when she was a guest in the lovely red haired woman's home.
"Oh? Well --" Riko had started to answer her question when she was cut off. Apparently, it was a conversation that would lead down a certain path that, perhaps, Etain was just not ready to go down. Not that she would have minded explaining her reasons. True, they were personal, but enough time had passed, where she was more comfortable talking about it.
"Um...OK." she said, as Etain stood up, "Is there anything else I can do?"
As she asked, she wondered what the point of that question was. Etain needed to get some things, so it wasn't like she would be able to help out with that. She already had a few items in those shopping bags on the sette, so it wasn't like she needed to prepare much. Riko just wanted to feel like she could help, in some way, to repay Etain's hospitality.
