wardrobe;; Despite being born male, Homura's wardrobe is almost entirely filled with girls' clothing.  Thanks to the fact that his mother runs a kimono shop it's not uncommon for Homura to just straight up wear a kimono or yukata for everyday activities.  Aside from that he greatly prefers lacy, fashionable and generally girly skirts, tops, blouses and such.  He tries to avoid anything too form fitting because it's harder to maintain a feminine appearance that way.

personality;; Homura takes great pride in being feminine, in part because he likes to think of himself as more girl than boy.  Quite the passionate sort about many things, he tends to throw himself fully into whatever undertaking he has his mind set to.  S/he's not afraid to start a conversation here and there with small talk thanks to self-developed confidence that makes him fairly outgoing.  Friends are still few and far between because Homura has a hard time fully trusting others.  Hanging out a bit is one thing but allowing people to get close is kind of a taboo that Homura's hesitant to break.  

Homura's pride also lends itself to getting defensive the moment it seems that someone doubts the brunette's femininity.  So proud is Homura that often the response to such perceived doubts is 'you're just jealous because I'm the cutest girl in the world'.  This is something the brunette honestly believes with all his heart.  At the same time he's not necessarily completely comfortable with himself because of past troubles in his life.  To some degree he does wonder if something is wrong with him which makes others mistreat him.  Due to that Homura works hard to show no weakness to the outside world, for fear that vulnerability will invite hardship like what came before.

Furthermore Homura is generally a kind soul who treats each and every of those few souls who can be called friends as royalty.  No length is too great for them in the kimono expert's mind.  Should a friend be slighted Homura will be the first to leap to their defense.  Men make him uncomfortable, and Homura therefore much prefers the company of girls.

fears;; Homura's nightmare scenario is being exposed to the world at large as being nothing more than a boy in a skirt. Being ridiculed by classmates, friends and family alike is terrifying to him. He's also afraid of the ocean and large bodies of water after his father's attempts to 'teach him to swim' by throwing him into a lake in the hopes that Homura would instinctively start paddling to save his own skin.

crush and sexuality;; Bisexual and terribly awkward about it; he's attracted to both boys and girls but he's terrified of actual relationships.  The only one that's happened so far ended up with the boy (who thought Homura was a biological girl) finding out about Homura's secret and then proceeded not only to break things off and to attack Homura.  Not wanting to see that happen again Homura is hesitant to pursue.  Despite this Homura still really would like to be loved.

history;; From a very young age Homura was never a very masculine sort, always preferring to play dress up or dolls with girls instead of sports with boys. While his mother, the caretaker of a kimono shop, quietly supported her oddly named son in whatever he wanted to do, dad had other plans. As an ex-member of the Self-Defense Forces, he thought Homura should be tougher, manlier and blamed his wife for how the boy turned out. He'd regularly shout at both of them, throw Homura into terrifying situations in the hopes that a 'real boy' would emerge suddenly from within and even physically struck his son on a few occasions. Mercifully this man separated from Homura's mother and disappeared from their lives after a divorce was finalized.

Playing dressup segued into Homura regularly dressing like a girl, primping himself to look just right. Thanks to a family friend who worked at a junior high not too far away he was even able to start attending school as a girl; he'd change clothes in the nurse's office under the guise of helping the nurse in between classes. Unfortunately he began secretly dating a boy from his class after confessing and things went downhill fast. The boy discovered Homura was also a boy, erupted in anger and attacked Homura before the brunette managed an escape. This being right at the end of the school year, the school nurse was transferred to another junior high. With mom's help Homura was able to transfer as well and has been much more cautious about his identity since then. It helps that a more prestigious private girls' academy is just up the road, and boys at Homura's school spend more time talking about sports or the cute girls from the academy than they do about girls in their own class.
