wardrobe;; Although she is never without a pair of headphones at the ready, Riko's attire tends to shift about, quite a bit.  Most of the time, she sticks to skirts, but it's never too far of a stretch to see her in a pair of jeans if the mood suits her.  Even her hair style can be subject to change.  Sometimes she leaves it alone, in the lopsided bobcut she prefers.  Other times it's done up in a pair of twintails.

Strange Luck – Riko has always had a talent for finding herself in the oddest of situations.  And for a good reason.  Riko's ability is to nudge probability in one direction, or another.  This is more of an unconscious talent, however.  She is not entirely aware of it's existence, only that the weirdest things always seem to happen around her.  Her luck is never entirely beneficial, nor is it always harmful.  Every time she unconsciously uses her ability, the odds always seem to have a way of balancing themselves out.  Narrowly avoid getting hit by that projectile?  You just landed in that pile of garbage to get out of the way.  Finally corner that culprit?  Slip on a banana peel and let them run away.  Sure, maybe he dropped an important clue...but, that clue just landed in a gutter and guess who's going to have to fish it out?

personality;; Riko is what many people would refer to as, too clever for her own good.  A lack of physical strength and a smart mouth are often the perfect combination to find yourself in quite the pickle.  But, Riko's wits have always served her well to find a way out of those precarious situations.  Usually, with minimal damage.  Usually.  A big fan of mystery novels and film noir, she often tries to emulate the hard-boiled detectives she grew up watching.  Usually, Riko has a quip or a flirtatious remark at the ready.  Her biggest influence, however, was from her father.  A police detective, he has always stood as an example of law and order to Riko.  And while she may seem to be the kind of person willing to bend the rules, here and there, Riko has firm lines that she will never cross.  With a firm sense of justice, Riko will always go out of her way to help others.  And if one of those people in need of her help, happens to be a pretty girl?  Well, who is she to complain?

history;; Riko Cheung's life seems to have been strange from the moment she was born.  Her father, Jian Cheung was detective with the Hong Kong police and her mother...is a mystery.  For whatever reason, she has been kept in the dark as to who her mother is.  Her father died when she was very young, killed in the line of duty.  From that point on, Riko has been raised by her aunt and uncle.  They, too, were rather tight-lipped when it came to the identity of her mother.  Although they certainly had lots to say about her father.

By all acounts, Jian Cheung was a very honorable man.  And from all the stories, Riko thinks back rather fondly of him.  But, this was not the end of the mystery that surrounds Riko.  Even as a child she had found herself inexplicably drawn into some of the strangest events.  Today, she is oddly unphased by such odd occurrences.  Perhaps she should show more concern than she does.  But, Riko is a very optimistic person and always tries to do the right thing.  Even when faced with the strange and unusual.

A few months ago, Riko had a very fateful encounter.  One more in the long list of odd coincidences that have marked her life. The famous detective, Nero Ookami, happened to be investigating the diappearance of one of her classmates.  A girl whose parents earned more than enough money to pay the salary of the reclusive detective.  Riko had been applying her own efforts into the discovery of the fate of the missing girl.  She had found her rather cute, after all.

In the course of the investigation, Riko kept running into the old man.  Both by coincidence and to some extent by her own design.  Hoping to impress the detective, she displayed a keen eye for detail and a good instinct when it came to hunting down clues.  Riko managed to present a very well thought out theory as to the girl's location and was rewarded by the discovery of her missing classmate.  And while she won the day and the respect of Mr. Ookami, the girl she had found happened to have run away with her boyfriend.  A fact she was both embarrassed (due to the circumstances that she found them in) and a little disappointed (that those circumstances didn't involve her).

Ever since that case, Riko has been taken as an “intern” of sorts with Nero Ookami.  Doing all the legwork for the old curmudgeon, Riko keeps a running tab on all of the details of any particular case that he might happen to working and in return he funds a scholarship that sends her to the private school she now attends.  An all girls school...as luck would have it.

Now if only she could find herself a pretty girlfriend...
